Truck Art & Painted Décor made in Pakistan

This family covers hand-painted kettles, trunks, furniture, signs, wall art and small gifts in Pakistan's bright truck-art style. Workshops in Karachi, Rawalpindi and Lahore paint them, often the same artists who paint real trucks. The style also works on print-on-demand items (printed only after an order comes in).

In simple words

Who buys it, and where to start

Diaspora families, cafés and restaurants, event planners and lovers of bold folk art buy these. Pakistani truck art is famous around the world and easy to recognise.

Good first products

Fridge magnets: They are low-cost add-ons that are light to post.
Truck-art kettles: Hand-painted chai kettles make a signature gift.
Custom name signs: Personal name signs for homes and kids' rooms are easy to sell made to order.

Be careful with

Do not paint film stars, cricket players, cartoon characters or brand logos, even though they appear on trucks at home.
Painted furniture and trunks are heavy and costly to ship, so start with small items.

Rules in plain words

What to check

Most painted décor needs no special licence. Plates, cups and kettles used for food or drink need food-safe paint and may need testing, and lit signs or lamps need electrical safety marks. Never copy famous people, brands or characters.

Anything with a plug or bulb needs electrical safety marks (such as UL, CE or UKCA) for the country you sell to. (16 product types)
Plates, cups and food containers must be tested as safe for food (for example for lead). (1 product types)

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can I sell truck art as prints and T-shirts?

Yes. Truck-art patterns can be licensed digitally for prints, stickers and T-shirts. Make sure the artist agrees and is paid for the design.

Why does each piece look different?

Each item is painted by hand, so no two are the same. Tell buyers this so they expect small differences.

Is truck art only for Pakistani buyers?

No. Cafés, street-food restaurants and fans of bold folk art buy it too. Explain the story of Pakistani truck art in your listing.
