In simple words
Who buys it, and where to start
Boho and eco-minded home buyers, gift shops and diaspora families buy these. They like natural, handmade and plastic-free décor.
Good first products
- Bread baskets: Mazri bread and roti baskets are light, plastic-free and useful in diaspora kitchens.
- Hand fans: Palm hand fans are cheap, light and suit summer weddings.
- Jute bags: Branded jute totes suit eco-conscious shops.
Be careful with
- Wired camel-skin lamps need electrical safety marks, so consider selling them unwired or with certified parts.
- Use only common shells that are not protected; protected shells cannot be traded.
- Moorha and charpai furniture is bulky and costly to ship.

How to start
First steps

- Check that palm and reed items are clean, dry and free of insects before you pack them.
- List baskets with a short story about the weavers and how mazri is woven.
Rules in plain words

Questions
Frequently asked questions
What is mazri?
Mazri is a dwarf palm whose leaves are woven into baskets, mats and fans. Kohat is one of the best-known places for this work.
Do I need a certificate to export baskets?
Some countries ask for a phytosanitary certificate (a plant-health paper) for plant materials. Ask your shipper or buyer what their country needs.
Can I sell camel-skin lamps abroad?
Yes, but a lamp with wiring needs the right electrical safety mark for each country. One option is to sell the lamp unwired or with certified fittings.
